PhiloMath is an educational game designed to support math practice. It supplements—but does not replace—teaching, professional educational assessment, or guardian supervision.
1. Agreement
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern use of the PhiloMath mobile application, website, and related materials (collectively, “PhiloMath”). By installing or using PhiloMath, you agree to these Terms. A parent or legal guardian should review these Terms for a child who uses the App.
2. What PhiloMath provides
PhiloMath provides educational entertainment including math adventures, dynamically generated questions, arcade training modes, Guardian battles, hints, achievements, ranks, daily challenges, local progress, and backup tools.
3. Educational purpose
Content is intended for practice and general learning. Difficulty labels, adaptive behavior, hints, scores, mastery percentages, and achievements are game features and are not formal academic grades, diagnoses, certifications, or professional assessments.
4. Player and guardian responsibilities
- Use the App lawfully and appropriately.
- Review content and difficulty for the individual learner.
- Protect the device and exported backup files.
- Avoid using personally identifying information in a public-facing nickname or username.
- Seek help from a teacher or qualified professional for specific educational concerns.
5. Local data and backups
Progress is primarily stored on the device. Uninstalling the App, clearing data, losing the device, or device failure may remove progress permanently. Users are responsible for creating and protecting backups. We cannot recover information that was never exported to a backup controlled by the user.
6. License and acceptable use
We grant a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PhiloMath according to these Terms and applicable app-store rules. You may not distribute harmful code, misuse the App, attempt unauthorized access, infringe intellectual-property rights, resell the App, or copy or reverse engineer it except where applicable law expressly permits.
7. Intellectual property
PhiloMath's name, Owl Guardians, enemies, artwork, interface, worlds, written content, designs, software, music, effects, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to the developer and protected by applicable law. A player's locally created profile and progress remain associated with that player's device data.
8. App stores and purchases
Apple App Store and Google Play terms may also apply. Any purchase, refund, or subscription offered through a store is subject to the terms displayed at purchase and the applicable store's rules.
9. Availability and changes
We may update, balance, improve, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue content or features. We aim to preserve compatible local progress where practical but cannot guarantee continuous availability on every device, operating-system version, or store.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PhiloMath is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, complete accuracy, fitness for a particular educational purpose, non-infringement, or error-free operation. Rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost progress, device issues, missed learning goals, or decisions made using game results. Nothing excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
12. Termination
Users may stop using PhiloMath at any time by removing the App. We may restrict use where necessary to protect users, PhiloMath, rights holders, or comply with law. Terms that should reasonably survive termination will remain effective.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer law in the user's location applies.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as PhiloMath changes. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
